How to download an Apple Podcasts transcript

Apple’s own transcript, not a guess
Apple already publishes a timed transcript for most episodes. PodText fetches that file instead of running the audio through a speech model, so names and wording match what the show published.

Where do I find the Apple Podcasts link?
Open the episode in the Podcasts app or on podcasts.apple.com, tap Share, then Copy Link. An episode link contains ?i=1000... at the end.
Can I paste a show link instead of an episode?
Yes. Paste the link of the show and PodText lists its latest episodes. Pick one to open its transcript.
Does every episode have a transcript?
Most English, Spanish, French and German episodes do. New episodes usually get one within a day or two of release, and a few publishers switch transcripts off for their shows. More on missing transcripts.
Are the speakers named?
Apple marks where the speaker changes but not who it is, so turns come through as Speaker 1, Speaker 2. Solo shows come through under the show name.
Can I use a Spotify or YouTube link?
No. PodText reads Apple’s transcripts only. Find the same episode on Apple Podcasts and paste that link; most shows publish there too.
Is it free?
Yes, with no account and no limit on episode length. Transcripts belong to whoever made the episode, so treat them the way you would treat any quotation.
