By accessing and using PodText (https://pod-text.com), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our service.

2. Scope of Service

PodText provides a free, browser-based productivity tool to fetch and format official text tracks, transcripts, and closed captions from publicly available Apple Podcasts episodes and YouTube videos.

The service is provided without charge, requires no user account, and requires no local software installation.

3. Content Ownership & Fair Use

All podcast episodes, YouTube videos, and their corresponding spoken word content belong exclusively to their respective creators, publishers, networks, and copyright owners. PodText claims no ownership or copyright over any generated transcripts.

You agree to use transcripts strictly in compliance with applicable local and international copyright laws, fair use doctrines, personal study, academic quotation, accessibility, or other lawful purposes. You are solely responsible for how you store, distribute, or quote the retrieved text.

4. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use PodText for any of the following unauthorized activities:

  • Deploying automated scrapers, spiders, or headless bots to place abusive loads on our API endpoints.
  • Attempting to bypass our rate-limiting barriers or reverse-engineer our service infrastructure.
  • Using the service to infringe, misappropriate, or violate any third party's intellectual property rights.
  • Reselling, sublicensing, or charging third parties for access to the PodText interface or API.

5. Disclaimer of Warranties ("As Is")

The service is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory. We make no warranty that:

  • The service will always be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or bug-free.
  • Every podcast or YouTube video will have an available text track (availability is determined by the source creator and platform).
  • The transcript text will be free of transcription errors or inaccuracies made by upstream voice-to-text models.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall PodText, its creators, operators, or service providers be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use or inability to use the service.

7. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to revise or amend these Terms of Service at any time. Continued use of the website following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
