1. What PodText Is and How It Operates

PodText is a free web-based utility designed to help users read, search, quote, and study spoken audio and video dialogue by extracting official text tracks and closed captions.

We do not host, store, cache, archive, re-encode, or redistribute any audio, video, or underlying media files on our servers. When a user submits a publicly accessible Apple Podcasts or YouTube URL, our service communicates directly with the platform's public interfaces to read the official text or caption track already published by the creator or distribution platform. All processing is transient and ephemeral.

2. Respect for Intellectual Property Rights

PodText respects the intellectual property rights of creators, authors, publishers, and copyright holders. We expect all visitors and users of our tool to respect those same rights. Transcripts retrieved through our tool belong solely to their respective copyright owners and are intended for lawful personal use, research, accessibility, and legitimate fair use commentary.

3. Filing a DMCA Notice of Infringement

In accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (Title 17, United States Code, Section 512(c)(3)), if you believe in good faith that any content or transcript made accessible via PodText infringes upon your copyright, you or your authorized agent may send a written DMCA Takedown Notice to our Designated Copyright Agent:

To ensure prompt processing, your notice must include substantially the following information:

• Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed (such as the show title, episode title, or registration details).
• Identification of the specific URL(s) on Apple Podcasts or YouTube that correspond to the material you request be restricted or blocked.
• Sufficient contact information including your full legal name, physical address, telephone number, and valid email address.
• A statement that you have a good-faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notification is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner.
• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or an authorized representative.

4. Our Review and Response Procedure

Upon receiving a formal, compliant DMCA notice, we will expeditiously review the request (typically within 3 to 5 business days). Although PodText does not store audio or video media, we can implement server-side access blocks to prevent our tool from processing specific episode IDs, video IDs, or entire podcast feed identifiers.

5. Counter-Notification Procedure

If you believe that a restriction or takedown was enacted as a result of mistake, misidentification, or fair use justification, you may submit a written Counter-Notice to dmca@pod-text.com containing:

• Identification of the specific material or identifier that was blocked.
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was restricted due to mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address, telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your judicial district.
• Your physical or electronic signature.

6. Policy on Repeat Infringement

PodText does not require user accounts. However, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy for persistent copyright infringement. If specific channels, shows, or media sources are repeatedly the subject of validated infringement notices, we will permanently blacklist them from our parsing infrastructure.
